Just had some silly c@&£ threaten to shoot my P4 down because it was hovering near his property. Fair enough it was but, I was showing one of my work colleagues how to fly and letting him have a go as he is interested in buying one. It wasn't just hovering above his property though as it was being flown around the general area. I'm gonna go banging on the £&@"'s door later on and see if he wants to repeat his threat when I'm off my employers property and I'm out of works time. Anyway, the question I have to ask is- the 50 metre rule, does that apply for both height and distance or is it one or the other? If I was 200ft above but going directly over the top of the property, is that breaking the law?

The 50 metre rule applies to distance...if you draw 50m radius circle round a building, anywhere within that circle, no matter what height you are, is a no go area.
