It depends on what you are charging and how often. For example, I use a 400 watt inverter in my van to simultaneously charge two P2 batteries. Using a pair of Imax B6 chargers I set their charge rate to 2.2 amps. The inverter is connected directly to my 12 volt 100 AH reserve battery.

On a busy day I recharge three P2 batteries up to three times each, as well as GoPro batteries, fpv goggle batteries and perhaps a 2200 mah Ground Station battery.

Previously I plugged the inverter into the van's 12 volt cigarette lighter socket. After charging several batteries, however, the van's starter battery was almost too low to start the engine.
