Camera will not take video or pictures

So the camera will not shoot anything? There is good stable FPV video on the screen, but it will not shoot anything past that.

Also my controller beeps incessantly until I either move the controls or push the off/on button

Any suggestions on how to fix that?

Not exactly sure on the camera issue. Your controller is likely beeping at you because it needs to be calibrated. Even though the sticks may seem centered, it is probably detecting a forward left stick condition on startup. Calibration should remedy that.
