I was getting fairly decent range with the FC40 camera. I then installed a Aerial Freaks Cyclops gimbal and my camera range dropped significantly.(150 feet at most). I am not sure if the two are related or not. Could the loss be attributed to the gimbal?

can you give more info? as aint that gimbal for the phantom vision?
this post is in the fc40 section.. what phantom are you using...
But if you are passing the video signal through the gimbal and more contacts.. then yes it can loose signal range.
If the signal is still routed as it was before then it should be the same unless some new signal is affecting your video signal.. hope that makes sence

That gimbal is made for the FC40. It is only connected to the power wire in the landing leg of the Phantom. It is installed on a Phantom FC40.
