I have a Phantom 3 Standard and when I move to different locations I calibrate my compass. I also now have a Phantom P4 and the manual says to only calibrate the compass when the DJI Go app prompts you to. IS THIS CORRECT. I have flown it several times at different locations and the app never says to calibrate. Am I missing something??

I ack. this is a P4 question and experiences differ, but my P2nv has not been calibrated in about 2 years and flown as far away as 600 miles from the last cal location.

I used to calibrate the compass each flight, then found out it was not necessary. Flown from many places miles apart now without any problems

My phantom always tells me home point updated before I take flight. If it doesn't, I just update home point myself, and then fly a practice run to the home point making sure it responds properly. I've calibrated it maybe 3 times last year. Safe, and happy flying[emoji106][emoji41]
