What would it cost to put together a quad with similar specs to the pv+
    Key components
    Gimbal
    GPS flight controller
Basically trying to figure out if the pv+ is a good deal

Depending what you're looking for and how high or low quality / spec the parts you could be competitive with the P2V's price point. You could defiantly have something nice for around $2k

The only thing that attracts me to the plus is the gimbal
THe range we got figured out
I might cancel my plus order
And if I can get a email to Keri I might buy his gimbal

Yeah the only reason why the Phantom 2 Plus has more range than the 1st out of the box is from 2dbi vs 1dbi antennas on the vision + camera. Not sure about the wifi extender power being higher though. When you factor in selling your P2V at a loss, and only adding $280 to $380 for a Gimbal for your P2V you're still ahead of the game. Only loss really is the 3rd Axis and that you can leave the camera antennas stock tho stick skew planers on the P2V+ will likely still improve it somewhat.

FWIW, from my experience with dji I wouldn't want to be a PV+ beta tester.... I'd either wait a few months until the bugs are shaken out, or get a more flexible platform that's easy to customise - a P2 if you want to stick with dji, then fit gimbal, osd, etc of choice..

    I don't even care if it's dji
Just want something with a gimbal and gps flight control and Fpv
Is dji the only company making a complete unit ?

I've read good things about the Storm6. May end up with similar cost by the time its suited up like a vision plus.

looks interesting . I could not see what the specific "increased payload" weight was.

Great Post Skip! I get asked this question often, "what else can you compare the P2V too"? I have always said they are it for the same price". It's good to know the true answer now....
