Bindind old controller to a used P3S

Ok folks, I need some technical assistance.
I crashed my P3S, the gimble was destroyed. My son gave me his old P3S, which is about 3 months old. I watched you tube videos on how to bind, but nothing is working. When I power up the drone, the red lights stay solid and the yellow lights flash rapidly.
