Tonight I pushed my limit out to 2900 feet and lost connection. But I never got the RTH message. I toggled the switch trying to regain control. Minutes went by. Nothing. So I started walking toward the last known point thinking I could get closer and regain control. To stay in the open I ran through start thistle waist high (in my shorts and sandals), forded an irrigation ditch, more star thistle. 10 minutes of thrashing through brush. Nothing.
Then the phone call from my wife. My P2V+ was waiting for me at home. I could hear it laughing in the background. Or maybe that was my neighbor...
