Make your own out of the cardboard it came in. That's free. $35 will get you basically nothing unless you make it. I bought HD foam to fill a foot locker on wheels I had sitting around. Cost me about $40.

The most budget-friendly case I've seen is the MCM hard case. It's one of the cases where you design the interior yourself by plucking the foam.
