My daughter wants to buy her husband his first drone, what would you recommend, would you go inexpensive like a Syma or Hubsan or go straight for the Phantom?
I recommend to start cheap before moving up to a Phantom-level quad. Even though a Phantom will essentiality"fly itself," I think it's important to develop the right muscle memory and just have a feel for the sticks and how the craft will react to certain inputs without having to consciously think about it. It will make flying the Phantom a lot safer and more enjoyable in my opinion.
Plus those inexpensive little quads are a lot of fun in their own right.
Does she think he will really get into UAV's or just needs to see if he may?
With a P3S available right now for $399 it should be able to be sold easily provided it is not wrecked on CL without shipping issues. Going to be high school graduates with some extra $$$ in the next few weeks
