installed battery and something on battery touched the forward light and saw a little smoke pulled battery and now light at nose doesn't flash or even come on any more any ideas what i have to replace to fix problem phantom 1 still flies but can't do the dance or get preflight sequence from front light.

Does not sound real good, and have not had that problem. (knock on wood) Have you used this same battery before ? Well, I am no expert but learning as it goes. You need to check inside the battery compartment and there should be a small shield covering the light. Should only see the part of the usb connection to the light. You might have to remove the top shell and look deeper to see if something came loose, or see sign of damaged wire.. hope that helps
