Battery Firmware upgrade

I bought an extra battery with my 4 Advanced. Do I need to do a firmware update on the battery?

Do I use the same mini SD card with the same latest firmware I just used to update the copter?

Nope. You cannot install the same firmware on the Phantom twice. It's perfectly fine to keep the BIN on your memory card too.
