The battery terminals need to be covered. You can put your batteries in a case (with individual battery slots), put a piece of tape over the battery terminals, put them in a LiPo bag, or use a P4 battery cover (like this one).

If you only have one battery is it sufficient to have it in the aircraft ?

OK great. Was wondering. I have 3. Hoping my drone gets back to me in time from DJI. I had to send it in because of the compass disconnect and hoping they get it back to me with a quick turnaround

The FAA says it's okay if the battery is installed in the electronic device, but I'd still carry it on just in case. See more details here.
