Bad video quality post editing

Hello pilots,
Finally i edited my first video taken with my p3p 4k resolution. i edited it in my laptop with windows movie maker.
when done, i noticed that the quality of the video dropped down badly. when i watch the p3p videos on my laptop it looks great. something happened there in the movie maker. can this program work with 4k? is there something im missing in the program or is it just to heavy for the movie maker?

It only seems to allow up to 1080p when you save, you could make a custom setting (very bottom of list) with higher bitrate.

Recently on many editing forums, both Windows Movie Maker newbies and professionals have come across the same annoying problem when importing DJI Phantom 3 H.264 4K videos to WMM like the above user. In fact, H.264 is the ubiquitous codec, and it looks like it will stay for quite some time. Owing to video codec, computer configuration and operating environment, it is difficult for WMM to recognize H.264 MP4 files.You need to encode first before editing the videos in WMM.
