I would be interested to hear from anyone who can recommend a DJI Phantom 2 backpack which can safely accomodate a black pearl.

Thanks.

This one has pieces you can remove to accept a monitor. I have one of their hard cases for mine, very good cases. http://goprofessionalcases.com/shopcase ... ck-50.html

That looks really nice, thanks for posting. Although it is extra $100 to import it. Probably more than I wanted to spend on a rucksack. Looks well made though.

Here are photos of my backpack case that cost $75 plus shipping. You have to create the foam cutouts. I used this to travel to Costa Rica and through many state parks in the USA. Dimensions are within carry-on size standards. I added a few more cutouts for an additional battery and the Black Pearl charger.
[*]Fieldline Alpha OPS Internal Frame Pack - A local Wal-Mart for $39.99. I see them online too. Here: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Fieldline-Alp ... k/21501652

[*]Fastcap 1-1/8 Thick Kaizen Foam, 2' x 4' $13.69
[*]2-1/4 Thick Kaizen Foam, 2 ft x 4 ft Sheet $20.99
I used a knife and hot screw driver for the cutouts. The screw driver was heated up with a blow torch (you could use an iron or stove), and was used to smooth the edges and create holes for the antennas. The case also holds my FPV monitor and chargers. Remaining external pockets can be used for anything. It also came with a hydration reservoir. I slip the props along the side of the foam. I took out the stays (stiffener) since they are not needed and I used the excess foam created a lumbar pad.

I have my Black Pearl in the white foam that it came with. You can see it on the side of the bag in this pic.
