Not that I've heard yet. Poor guy. I've been so tempted to fly there - didn't realize the city has labeled it a NFZ. I bet what happened is he was on one side of the wheel and flew to the other side and lost contact - the drone went into RTH and hit the wheel. I work a few miles south of the Great Wheel, and pass it each day on the viaduct as I commute back and forth, the other night there was a drone in the sky, maybe 100 ft up just a few blocks south of the Wheel - it wasn't a Phantom, either a Solo or a Yuneec. It was headed in the general direction of the wheel, I hope the pilot kept his or her distance for their own sake. The waterfront is a great place to film though, day or night. Right now I just lack the cojones to try it. Maybe once things relax...So any leads on the genius who crashed into the Great Wheel? lol
