I tried checking out one of the "Banner-Ad's" in the middle of the page & noticed this product as being added yesterday? I have seen a few other attempts on making a Lense Filter for the P2V+, but they looked more like a "Rube Goldberg Device" than a Lense Filter... Anyway this attempt at a filter looks better than anything else I've seen so far....IDK :?

This is the URL address that was from the "Banner-Add" http://www.allerc.com/snake-river-proto ... 7b22eb4b24

This is the info cut&pasted from it, minus a Photo..
FILTER FOR DJI VISION+
[SR-VP-ND8CP]$55.00
SNAKE RIVER PROTOTYPING V+ SERIES ND8/CP LENS FILTER FOR DJI VISION+
V+ Series ND8/CP Filter

The V+ Series ND8/CP Filter combines a lightweight slip-over filter frame for the DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ camera with a professional grade two-in-one filter. The ND8/CP is a combination circular polarizer and neutral density 8 (ND8 or ND0.9) filter. A CP filter is used to reduce glare on the surface of water or windows, manage reflections, and increase the contrast between clouds and sky. A neutral density filter is used to reduce the effects of rolling shutter including the jello effect and prop blur. Filter weight is only 7.2 g, or 0.25 oz!

Each V+ Series Filter is made from two CNC machined Delrin® pieces so that the filter frame can be disassembled to facilitate easy cleaning of the filter glass. Delrin, which is more costly than billet aluminum by volume, was selected because of its high quality and excellent machining qualities.

The Vision+ camera lens body can vary slightly from camera to camera. To insure a good fit, each V+ Series filter includes an o-ring on the inside diameter of the filter which will accomodate small variation in camera lens diameter.

A filter is something that I'm looking for, and this would be interesting if it wasn't for the extortionate price and statements like "Delrin is more costly than aluminium" are not increasing my confidence.
I highly doubt the quality of the glass, and one should mention that with this price we're rapidly approaching Carl Zeiss quality level of DSLR filters.
There was another ND filter available last year from viewkopter.com but it seems to be down now.
Can anyone recommend anything else?

Edit: I stand corrected, this is a combination of a polarizing and ND, I'm blind, the ND itself is 35 bucks, that's more like it...

The price is certainly a factor in the decision making process, but more importantly for me anyway is my concern of adding any additional weight to the camera itself. I know many have used various type Sun Shades which attach above the camera lens to avoid prop reflection onto some of the recorded video, however when I tried a particular shade which was recommended, based on it's ability to balance the added weight I still found the camera gimbal became noisy. I don't know what would have been the long term affects of such noise or strain on the Gimbal motor, and so I simply decided to remove it. Again, I just felt it could possibly cause damage to the Gimbal motor mechanism of the camera leaving it attached.
Although the Sun Shade added some nominal weight which again was somewhat distributed front to rear, the end result for me was Negatory.

The DJI Camera as you are aware is no doubt a delicate and costly piece of equipment which doesn't lend itself to being altered without unfavorable consequences, IMHO.

Yeah, in general I'm sure you're right, but at 7 grams for the filter, I think it's really marginal.
I'm now wondering if there is any way for us to counter-balance the gimbal.

Delrin is also heavy. It would be lighter if it was made from molded ABS or nylon. 7.2g seems like a lot to put on that gimbal.
The web site even warns you that the added weight may damage the gimbal and they won't be liable for damage.

SRP filters can also be found here.
