Anyone else in Australia find parts hard to get?

I feel your pain too! It is either difficult or very expensive to get parts in OZ - particularly in Brisbane.
I bought my P3P from a store in Melbourne, but it took about 3 weeks to turn up, while I got accessories from the US in 4 days.

I have also had amazingly good service from some Chinese on-line stores who even shipped the goods for free and they arrived less than a week later. Amazing. If you are not in a hurry, perhaps the overseas option can be good.

You guys over east think it's bad, try getting anything for DJI aircraft in West Oz. No body even has spare props on the shelf it's all ex east and minimum order required :-( .
RE. The remote pilot's licence a RTO called RPAS training conducts 5 day courses at Jandakot WA approx $3k for your ticket . I believe they run the CASA approved course in most states on demand.
