Anybody run into this problem

I noticed once my Ipad alarm goes off when the battery is at 30% and I start to bring it back within 20 or 30 yards I loose just about all control. As it gets within 4 to 5 foot of landing it crashes. Almost at a point of a fly away. It still shows around 10% power. Is this normal when it gets this low. Below is a picture of one of the places I was flying and noticed this happening. There are no phone lines or power lines around that might be causing this.

One possibility, if switch was in home lock when it gets about 30 ft. away it switches to course lock and controls do not respond as you would expect when in normal flight.

If you lose control at 20 yards, how exactly do you get it down to 5 feet? And, how does it crash when 5 feet in the air?
