Hi,

I'm new here, hope to learn lots of cool stuff. Nice to "meet" you all.

The Phantom 3 Advanced remote has two antennas...Is one for transmitting remote control uplink, and the other for receiving Lightbridge downlink? Reason I ask is because once I get about 3,000 feet away, RC signal drops and gives me low signal strength, but the HD is still full bars and I have uninterrupted video. Its like my outbound signal is weaker than inbound signal...is this possible? I fly in a suburban area where there is a fair amount of wifi/cell signals. Just trying to figure out why RC signal drops off, while HD remains full bars.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

John

I had a similar issue yesterday, I found it strange given that most people will lose video but maintain control much farther.

As has been experienced the Tx power of the video down-link is greater than the controller transmit.

According to this FCC report...
https://fccid.io/pdf.php?id=2588743
The video downlink is operating at 28.73 dBm with 2.0 dBi gain form the 4 antennas.

And as many are aware the controller is limited to 20 dBm (in FCC mode).

Great info,Im diving into that report right now. Thanks N017RW.

There is also reports for the controller(s) so if you Google around you can find them too.
