Rather than rabbit it on about this - apparently it surfaced about 2 weeks ago.
It looks pretty good and has a lot of the P3 "goodies - but in some things.. up front of DJi.
A Tx with its own 7" monitor. $750 ish which seems really reasonable to have with you when the Phantoms batteries are drained!

Check it out

I suppose I had better add.... I gain nothing - not associated with them, not an affiliate link - I just like it- and maybe I wont be so paranoid about "flyaways" or crashing my P3P !

Nothing P3ish about that one. It's a clunky, cheap looking clone of the P2 with none of the technology that makes the P3 so good.
Much better to save your $$ for P3 batteries than invest in that.

First I would like to say that the Phantom is one awesome Quadcopter.
Secondly I would like to say that I am not making a personal rant here, but stating some needed facts to those that maybe do not know any better about the Chase quadcopter.

''clunky, cheap looking clone of the P2 with none of the technology that makes the P3 so good.''

Do you own a copy or are you just making a baseless statement?

I own a copy of the UpAir Chase and know for a fact that it is not made of cheap material.

To also say it has none of the technology that makes the P3 so good is not only not true, but screams out someone not owning a copy.

Does the P3 not have Altitude hold?
Does the P3 not have Autoland?
Does the P3 not have Position Hold?
Does the P3 not have headless mode?
Does the P3 not have failsafe mode?
Is the P3 transmitter controls not spring loaded?
Is the P3 not made out of robust material?
Does the P3 have FPV capability?
Is the P3 good in auto hover?

If so then the UpAir Chase is not clunky, cheap looking clone of the P2 with none of the technology that makes the P3 so good.

yes the Phantom 3 has a bit more features.
However the requirements for a drone to be good in video filming is present in the UpAir Chase as well, and it also supports GoPro 4 if you want to.

2 axis gimbal yes, but does a good job at that.
3 axis gimbal coming later I have been told my the manufacturer.
It comes with a 7 inch monitor which works perfectly well.

The only big downside of the UpAir Chase in my opinion is that it is hard to do maintenance on, but that is about it.

And before you think the Phantom 3 has no shortcomings, then I know also for a fact that that is not true.

People that get paid to do reviews have made a comparison with the P3 or P2 with the UpAir Chase and it would surprise you hwo good the Chase actually is.

I am not a Chase fanboy and I do not say that you are a DJI fanboy.
Lets be honest and lets not make comments that have no basics, because unless you own both or have had both in your hands and tested them or seen them in action by professionals, then your rant is uncalled for.

I hope you won't delete this post or ban me for speaking my mind, and also adding some truth to it.

I doubt the Phantom is better in shooting stable videos, but even if it is ''if'' then the difference is not that big.

I can highly recommend this Quadcopter for those looking for an alternative to at least the Phantom 2 which is a bit cheaper.

Cheaper does not always scream out that it is worse in terms of flight performance and video production.

I tell you, the air frame is solid work.
I am not trying to be rude to you, just pointing out that your statement is not true for well known reasons.

Do not take my word for it.
Hear the reviews on Youtube and other websites from those that own both.
At the least, despite of your choice, it is not even close to being ''clunky, cheap looking clone of the P2 with none of the technology that makes the P3 so good.'' is not true.

I could rant on about Phantom issues if I wanted to, but knowing that no product is perfect make no sense to do so.

No hard feelings, but a known fact it a fact.
Maybe you will change your mind when you see the well put together drone videos that this nice drone will produce in time.

I know for a fact that I will do my part.
(fear not, I will not share the videos here because this is a phantom only forum, I respect that)
Why did I not buy a phantom 2 or 3?
No idea to be honest other than I like both products, but maybe fun to try something different than the rest for a change.

At least the reviews from customers also speaks volumes.

I leave you all with some photos I took.

From someone who actually owns this quadcopter.
Yes it is good, is great in the air, stable and long flying time, and it also shoots awesome videos.

A bit hard to do work on, but other than that it is awesome.
Is it a phantom replacement?

No because the DJI products have been around for ages now, but if you compare flight dynamics and video shooting with the phantom 2 and phantom 3 it does an equal good a job.

In the near future ''says the company'' it will be able to attach a 3d gimbal and to use GoPro 4.

It does look fairly decent. I don't however like the 16 minute flight time...respectable, but the p3's 25 minutes is far more appealing. 9 minutes is quite a big difference.

A clone is a clone is a clone. The lines on the transmitter and the lines on the body, come on, they could have tried to make it a bit less obvious.
