Made a new extension for the battery compartment. This allows use of longer batteries. It also mounts the LED at an angle so that it is more visible from underneath. This mod required cutting out the back of the phantom and extending the wires for the LED. The USB cable was removed and the LED board inverted so that the socket was accessible from a hole underneath.

What size of battery can you get in now?
Where did you find the plastic extension piece?
    Nice MOd, BTW.

I have been using Maddog 2700 and Thunder power 2800 batteries. These now fit easily with plenty of room for the wires and connectors. This also shifts the battery weight more towards the rear of the bird to offset the gimbal and camera which I have moved more forward.
I designed the plastic piece and had it printed at Shapeways.
