    If we all followed these recommendations there would be far fewer reasons for the FAA to take such a dim view of us.

    Agreed, however is it really necessary to have a task force for this?

    Until common sense is truly... common... The answer to that question is overwhelmingly yes.

    Policy makers tend to give more attention to recommendations from some sort of organized group or "task force" rather than from individuals, so yes, AK Drones - nicely done!

    I watch a few shows about living in Alaska, including "Edge of Alaska". They evidently use drones fairly often, because they have a lot of aerial shots and I'm sure they don't use helicopters. I suppose they may use small planes, though.
