After market gimbal tilt control lever

I bought an after market gimbal tilt control lever for the back of the transmitter on ebay. It fits perfectly and turns the yellow square potentiometer quite well. Only problem is, the camera doesn't move. The instructions say to check functioning in Assistant software: Basic --> RC --> Sticks Monitor. It doesn't move these; in fact the sticks monitor moves when S1 moves.

Is there something funky about the Phantom Vision that it doesn't have this feature enabled? Can someone tell me how to get this to work.

BTW - I fiddled with the two yellow potentiometers. Is that a problem? What do they control?

The top yellow pot is what the little lever plugs into an controls the 7th channel for tilt control of a gimbal if enabled.
The bottom yellow pot is to switch the power level from CE mode to FCC mode.
