We all now know that it is not a good idea to do a compass calibration on or near a metal surface/structure etc.

My question is, does that include all metal surfaces or just specific types of metal?

The reason i ask is that i bought a Helipad from UAVStickers and after having re-read the description i can see that it is made of "A solid plastic core sandwiched between two white aluminium faces" http://www.uavstickers.com/helipad.php

Would this affect the compass or not?

Only ferrous metals pose a risk. Aluminum is non-ferrous, and therefore non-magnetic, and will impose no ill-effects on your Vision+ compass.
