I've got about 8 flights in and what I find the most challenging so far is orientation. Oh I'm fine with the bird closer to me but farther off it gets interesting. Close in I practice figure 8's and I'm getting better and better.

I flew last evening with little sunlight to kill my screen on my Galaxy S5 (I need a sun shield) and found it much more relaxing to be able to view the bird's orientation in FPV.
Took her up to 253 feet for a personal best, a bit nervous but I could see FPV clearly and that helped.

Question:
If you lose FPV and she's too far away to see orientation do you hit RTH?

Sounds like you are truly enjoying it! Love hearing that...

If you lose FPV, you can do all kinds of things. You can refer to the map and trace your route back home.

You can use the compass to orient yourself and fly close enough to regain FPV.

You can RTH until to regain FPV or enough perspective to cancel RTH and keep flying...

What do I do? Whatever I'm in the mood to test myself to do at the time!

Keep enjoying!

Thanks for those tips! The obvious apparently escaped me...LOL
