.....Unless I'm flying for a good cause!

Starting at 5AM today, Iowa Select Farms began giving away either 3,500 or 4,500 (I heard both numbers) 4½-lb. pork loins at the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Each package can make about 12 meals.

I was asked to take some aerial footage & stills of the event.

    Good job 480sparky,

Maybe next year you can dress your bird up like a... Hmm?

Food for thought, so to speak. :D

I wonder how many folks fly at or below the minimum operating temp.
Did you notice any difference in performance?

I've flown in below zero weather before and battery/flight time is shorten by a minute or two. The only other things to watch for is wind can be hard to compensate at altitude (no reference by trees etc) and frozen lakes can reflect RF signal.

I had taken a trip there last week to 'scout out' the location. Made notes of the trees, power lines, and a cell tower. I flew mostly by FPV anyway since I was well away from any obstacles.

Well, it already had a couple red lights............... [IMG]

Battery performance was better than me. I couldn't stand there long enough to fully drain a battery, even if it did have less-than-ideal flight times. I took off, spent about 5 minutes in the air, then headed inside to warm up.

Nicely done. No doubt you provided some entertainment for those waiting in line!

My fingers give out at 28 degrees. Looks like more traffic than a summer fair day.
