What's everyone's experience on these

They may be cheap but 3DR has gone out of the consumer business: Behind The Crash Of 3D Robotics, North America's Most Promising Drone Company
The Solo could never match the Phantom 3 models for performance and as been well and truly overtaken by more modern technology these days.
They were/are plagued by poor GPS, short range and short battery life.
You are limited to using a Gopro camera which means you are stuck with fisheye images but can't control camera functions in flight.
If you go over to our sister forum for Solo owners you'll find a few hard core owners that keep convincing themselves that the Solo is the best drone in the world.
But they are mostly people that for some reason or other have decided that DJI is evil and they'd do anything to avoid using DJI.
Many have never used a modern DJI product and refuse to.
The technology of the current Mavic and Phantom 4 pro are two generations beyond the Solo, which makes them stone age in drone terms.

I have both 3dr solo and DJI Phantom...I love them both. I will just leave this here.
