Has anyone experienced gimbal wear or failure from using lens hoods?

I bought a short round one. http://peauproductions.com/store/index. ... cts_id=708

And the petal style. http://peauproductions.com/store/index. ... cts_id=703

They are not super heavy but obviously throw balance completely forward. I placed it on after turning on phantom since there is not enough room for gimbal to run through its start up motions.

The gimbal made no noise or weird behavior once it was on. The flight went well.

Side note: In my rush to test them, I took the P2 out even though K-index was at 4. It definitely affected GPS flight. Drifting more than usual even though I had 10+ satellites.

Ok I just bought one. I'll report back after I test it
I think I found someone more impulsive than me. I was not pushing sales, just making sure I was not wrecking several hundred dollar gimbal with a five dollar hood.

Only problem I've ever had is in gusts of wind, the gimbal "failed" and reset itself a couple times. The gust was strong enough to push on the GoPro.

The only reason I see for a hood is for the rotor shadowing you get in your vids, I did a diy fix with some plasticard and double sided tape (its my prototype).
I tested mine out and its perfect just need some fine tweaking and a printout template for myself so as to make a final. Its much lighter than a 3d printed one and so far no imbalance problems with gimbal.
I looked at the printed hoods but decided against them as they were too much hood. no need for a lower or side "petals" just a top one, but that's my opinion.
