3 blade props

    Anyone ever run tri-blade setup, is their any benefit?

    DJI props work best. They won't void your warranty either ;)

    3 blade prop would definitely increase performance but not sure I'd want to experiment with it.

    3 blade props can increase the motor heat and shorten flight time. More blades doesn't give better performance across the board. It's a give and take situation and more often than not fewer blades are better in "normal" atmosphere.

    The DJI design engineers put a lot of effort into properly matching the props to the motors to get a very effective combination.
    A few have tested but none have found any improvement in 3-blades.
    Most found a significant loss of performance and also that 3 blades props are hard to get balanced.

    Those aren't actually quads.
    They're just stacked for illustration.

    More blades equal less efficiency.

    More blades allow the disc size to be reduced.
    Not an issue for the Phantoms.
