I am looking at small, light cheap cameras for FPV-only. Two scenarios of interest: 1) flying Manual mode where my likelihood of crashing is much higher, and I don't want to shatter $1,000+ of camera/lens/gimbal if I auger in; (2) possibly a second camera, rear-facing, that I would use in addition to the forward facing GoPro, in situations where I want to fly backward (safely) while filming. I am using ImmersionRC 250mW and 600mW video transmitters.
The two class of units on GetFPV.com that I am looking at are the Fatshark 600TVL and the Lumenier 650:

http://www.getfpv.com/lumenier-cm-650-m ... x25mm.html
It seems options in this space include lines of resolution, pan/tilt or fixed, and lens FOV. I am leaning toward the cheap, fixed mount Fatshark, but also don't want to buy yesterday's technology if another system under $100 has much better image quality, light weight, low power, or other features. Looking for insights from anyone who has already been down this path...
