2 axis gimbals

I'm looking for (probably like everyone else) a plug and play 2 axis gimbal for my P2V. Rotorpixel is bit to high priced for me (at this time) is there an alternative? Also could I use a GoPro gimbal and modify it to use the original camera? My biggest concern is minimizing any drastic mods to the original stock electronics on board the P2V. It has worked flawlessly for me and I hate to give it the..... ID10T....error.
