I have the UFL to RP-SMA cable already installed in my transmitter (currently using a 6db gain dipole) as well as a 9db gain TP LInk panel antenna on my wifi/video side. I am losing control signal well before video signal. Would a 1000mW Sunhans amp be beneficial for extra range on my 5.8 TX side or is it a bad idea? I'd love to hear the pros and cons.

IMHO:
#1 - FPVLR Stage 2 Tx upgrade (Tony is a great resource)

#2 - http://www.ebay.com/itm/281298946201

I've been using the 1 watt Sunhans with a 9db helix. Was getting around 2000ft with the helix alone. With the 1 watt amp added I have been out to approx. 3500ft. with very realiable signal. My wifi signal usually drops at that distance.

Remember you will need a 12 volt power source for the Sunhans amp. I use a 10,000 mah battery backup with a 12 volt output. Power my wifi extender and another 2.4 ghz 2 watt Sunhans amp with same battery backup. Maybe 25% drain after 3 battery flights.
