How close did you go to HV lines?

Approximately 20 to 30 meters vertically depending upon the wire sag.

Was this for inspection? hard to make out the lines. I would believe though you knew what you was looking for.

Not for inspection of the adjacent lines. A new line will be constructed directly under the path I flew. By the time I reached the river, I received the weak signal warning and turned back. I'll try the same flight again with home made parabolic controller antenna ears and see what difference that makes.

nice wide open field there, regardless of those wires I'd assume you should get great signal.
