Oh, and you don't need to bother with an adapter or mounting plate - just get some rubber washers to space the distance between the 3rd axis motor and the shell.
I used something like these - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/231196045775 ... 1423.l2649
I do have the extended landing gear installed though.
Did this just the other day - works perfectly.
The only minor issue is that it doesn't appear that the 'C' shaped cover plate screws in, but it's not really needed anyway.
Just unscrew the backing plate on both gimbals, unclip the 30 pin connector, then on the 3D peel back the sticker and flip...
Great work, Chris.
I did pretty much what you did - except I had some smaller black vibration dampers from an anti-jello mounting plate that I got from ebay prior to going down the gimbal path.
I took those off and mounted them above the gimbal, then used the white stock Zenmuse vibration balls...
Go to the DJI Phantom RC assistant software, click 'Advanced', go to 'Gimbal' and calibrate the H3-3D there. My tilt is set to 2, horizontal & vertical both at 0.
Hope this helps.
