3D Robotics Solo vs Dji Phantom 3 Pro

I agree with the automated functions because I am a decent pilot too. But they are just so tempting. In orbit if you change altitude the gimbal adjusts to keep your subject matter in frame. On a cable run if you fly to within a few feet of your subject matter and record the input it will fly...

3D Robotics Solo vs Dji Phantom 3 Pro

Wow Buzz 313th great questions. I wish you were with me when Colin was here. I can answer only the gimbal question. If it is solo licensed to will be plug and play. So there will be other gimbal options. Not licensed and it voids the warranty and they know you plugged it in.

3D Robotics Solo vs Dji Phantom 3 Pro

I haven't flown the P3. I need HDMI out. So I would go with the Solo. I don't know that DJI ever appreciated my business. I got a good feeling from meeting Colin and two others from their team from Austin. Plus, they are going to license 3rd party add one to Solo....from a ballistic parachute...

3D Robotics Solo vs Dji Phantom 3 Pro

I flew a Solo the other day with Colin Guinn, formerly of DJI, when he was in Atlanta the other day. I own a P2V+ V. 1. And I love it except for my one bad battery. Solo is very, very smart. Much more functional for shooting great video via automated orbit and a cable settings. 3DR partnered...

    Notify the control tower

Download the Avare app. I have it on Android and it's free. Tells you your distance from nearest airport and gives you the phone number. And name of airport manager. Be aware that these kinds of maps are updated and this app may or may not be current. But still a good guide. Sent from my...

    Camera slightly misaligned

I had the same problem. Actually I have the same problem once a month. I was able to fix it after watching this video. Be very careful with the cable connections. http://youtu.be/Y3Ii1i3-x3I

P2V+ Video of Farm where Walking Dead filmed

A friend of mine owns a farm in Coweta County, Georgia where the Walking Dead and a bunch of movies have been filmed, mostly recently Lawless. He let my fly on his land and I put this video together for him. http://youtu.be/xZWKjxjvP_0

    WiFi - SSID - Module & Extender - P2V+

Re: WiFi - SSID - Module & Repeater - P2V+ I replaced it 2 weeks ago. Did some heavy flying last weekend. No drop of signal for 3 batteries. Before replacement, image would not come up at all. So it isvworking well. Can't say how long it will last. But others in this forum have not said that...

    WiFi - SSID - Module & Extender - P2V+

Re: WiFi - SSID - Module & Repeater - P2V+ I replaced my wifi module and at the time agonized over whether it was the right move. The part sat on a shelf for four weeks until I finally installed it. It has worked flawlessly since. I was getting telemetry and battery info as well as the...

Camera not level on Vision 2 plus

My camera was tilted too. The repair in this video fixed my problem. There is another YouTube video from someone suggesting taking a pair of pliers to the shaft inside the gimbal. I don't recommend that. Here is the link. Good luck. Phantom 2 Vision Plus camera repair and solution...

Is it always the WiFi module gone bad?

My PV2+ had been working great for months but now I am not getting the video feed to the app. Everything else appears there, telemetry, battery strength etc. Tilt works and camera works. My question is what trouble shooting can be done before replacing the WiFi module? I've already tried...

    Wedding disaster...groom down

A co-worker of mine posted this picture on Facebook from a wedding she attended this past weekend. Three hours before the ceremony while taking pictures of the happy couple and wedding party, their photographer accidentally hit the groom in the head...with the a quad copter. I don't know what...

Which P2V+ is right...they appear to be different.

I just got my P2V+ yesterday and it appears different from the one my friend received last week. Mine has two antennas and the compass attached to three landing gear legs and my friend's only has one antenna and the compass attached to two legs. Which one is right? The red arrows on the photo...
