Horrible analogy why? What better one might you apply to a component that in intended to have zero insertion loss going open circuit? I would say a fuse is pretty good.
In wouldn’t be too hard on yourself- it’s a difficult job even with the right gear.
A new main board won’t be expensive and shouldn’t be hard to find. Even if it worked the performance wouldn’t have been 100%.
Think of it as replacing a fuse. How might it be better to take the blown fuse out and leave the circuit open? The jumper restores the connection to the antenna.
Depending on how badly you butchered it the solution is probably a new main board.
Best guess its the antenna switch- they went open circuit on the P3S. You install a jumper across the chip which permanently feeds one antenna, disables the other.
Airborne rats.....
The biggest problem you can gave with them is when they are in large numbers on the ground and you fly over and startle them, they take of en masse and then its hard to know which action to take other than hope for the best.
Am I reading right- your out of the game because registration might mean you could be accountable for your actions if you injured someone?
That was always the case.

This and similar products have been around for a while. Hardly “tiny” but no doubt the drone makers might well find a way to squeeze the functionality in if it was mandated as a requirement by authorities.
The real point I was making seems to stand and that is from what DJI have said the ADS-B...
From what is known DJI’s implementation of ADS-B won’t include ADS-B out. Passive receive only. It probably isn’t even possible other than in much larger sUAS.
You seem to present a logical fallacy here, at least to the extent you argue the concern to be privacy related. This is a false equivalence, at least having regard to DJI’s stated intent of the app being to “prevent security threats and disruption”.
With respect to ADS-B several smart phone...
