A flight around a park with a pond near me. 4k had.

If on balcony I can see where drone is going, so signal is good. If I stand on ground and face building in direction of where the phantom is going, the signal bars start to drop.

Varies a lot. I can go on my balcony and get like 1+ mile if I fly and a building is in the way, the reception sucks!

I'll test it. Before I buy this. I did get better distances when at the park. But the con's is the many mixed signals from living in a city.

I'm just getting into customizing them (myP3P) I had the first one and trained myself for a while. Now that I hear this can extend the range and help with signal to travel more through obstacles, I want it. But $325 for it? Is it possible to diy??

Yep. I took it out for a first flight. But I don't plan on flying it here much. I am going to be taking video and pictures of open area places. Much better signal. The orientation part, I'm almost there, but very beginner on flying far without camera view to know orientation.

Took the pro out today and flew right pit of neighborhood, filled with 3-4 story buildings. Don't fly to far and don't fly at all if many people are out. Now, everything else is awesome, comparing it to the 1.1.1, this is way awesome. Recorder about 600 feet away from me. So that's a good...
