It could be the software version you are using - I know there was a problem a while back with Phantoms dropping out of the sky because of an update.

Yes it is. I used to have the 300A controller which would do 10,000ft but the USB packed up. Swapped it for a 300B and saw a huge increase in range.

Well I did along with a hard reset of the controller.

I get 16,000ft + with my P3P - totally standard setup - no boosters. It is the battery that limits me now.

You only need to calibrate the compass once in a while! I only did mine once in 2 years!
