Nope, antenna is stuck on there. I found that my bag intended for the Advanced/Pro didn't really have enough space for the controller so I had to cut out the padding and remove the mount.
Some phones are dumb and try to use the phantom connection to get to the internet. I had to swap back and forth on the connection a bit to get updated when I did it.
HTC One M8, I'm looking at you.
Lipos don't have memory like the old nicd so it's generally considered ok. I can't remember where I heard this but the dji smart batteries have the concept of "life" and reports are that it actually doesn't cost a "life" just to charge - partial charges are added up until one "charge" is...
The tablet/phone only talks to the controller that is <6" away so I doubt it's the radio on the tablet that is the issue. There is a lot of ham radio knowledge (that I don't have) that might apply to the other signals between the radio and the phantom but since both the iphone and the tab are...

One thing I've found after talking to a more experienced pilot is that the antennas on the phantom go down the legs. This means they are vertical - so is your transmitter. The radiation/reception pattern for these antennas is a donut with the hole being centered on the antenna. So straight up...
I'll take a swing at your questions...
1. Flight modes.
P-mode - Positioning Mode - Uses GPS to lock the craft to a position. Most common beginner flight mode as letting go of the sticks causes the craft to hover in place even in mild winds.
A-Mode - Attitude Mode - Does not use GPS for...
