Are you guys registering your Phantoms?

    Of course ... why wouldn't I?

Who will register their Phantom with the FAA?

I'm happy to register with the FAA and welcome the regulation (it's good for everyone)

DJI putting no fly zones around stadiums now?

Yes, there are clear legal delineations of controlled airspace; and there is a significant difference between a well maintained commercial airliner and a hobbyist's drone.

DJI putting no fly zones around stadiums now?

I live one block from Wrigley Field in Chicago, and regularly have to contend with DJI's no-fly blocks on Chicago's stadiums, etc. (e.g., the Museum Park area in Chicago is blocked as well). The no-fly blocks that show up on the DJI GO app maps are not perfectly accurate, as I can get my...

If you ever wondered if a P3 can be restarted in mid flight.......

Fun video ... could you fly the P3 after it dropped? It looked in reasonably good shape (the camera not so much)...

Deep discharge to 8% destroyed my battery

This sounds like a warranty issue -- bad battery. I would mail it back to DJI for a replacement. I regularly discharge to 8% and recharge (I do make sure it doesn't drop much further) with not problems. I think you just got a defective battery.

Phantom 3 Spare Parts Pricing - Battery, Backpack, Cameras, Chargers, Props

I just ordered 3 replacement sets. I checked DJI, and they have them for the same price with a $20 shipping charge. Nice to have a US alternative with reasonable shipping ($4.95). ... still waiting to hear about the "wife variety of international shipping options" ... mail order brides?

Great drone from a lousy company!

Rob: Bear in mind that DJI is doing something very new in the RC hobby. Previously, you were expected to assemble your own (this is still more or less the 3DR approach) and to work through the resulting problems. And the controllers were bad. I used to fly RC helis when you just had gyros...

    Prop Guards

I don't like them; they add weight (not much albeit) and interfere with thrust. The Phantom plastic is pretty durable I've found out, and you are better off learning how to fine control your quad on landing. If you are worried about an impromptu haircut, perhaps a worthy investment. Just my $0.02

Who got a drone back from DJI? Wait until you read this

I've fortunately not had to deal with DJI for repairs, but I have dealt with sales on purchase and shipping. A couple of points: (1) their sales have exploded, and the US is only one of their markets; (2) for efficiency, they have chosen to run everything out of Shenzhen (across the border from...

Severe Battery Temp Problems = 4hrs to charge 2 batteries

DJI's battery tech seems a bit complex because they have (Apple-like) turned an ordinary LiPo into a 'black-box' (or white box) with their packaging. But here are some basics that informed me about their maintenance. LiPo batteries use standard lithium-iron-phosphate (LiFePO4) chemistry: the...
