I would open it up and clean the boards with alcohol. I have saved numerous receivers and servos from my RC boats by doing this. What I have found is as the water dries mineral deposits dry on the board and short them out.
That was the issue I was having with the front guards. I now only use the rear guards. I like the added visibility the rear guards provide, mine are painted green. I have not noticed any change in flight characteristic.
I was able to get around the OA shut down by removing the black lines with paint thinker.
The problem I ran into was during forward flight the OA system would see the guards and stop the drone causing very jerky flight.
I flew today with the front prop guards with the black stripes removed. The CO system remained on but in slow forward flight the OA system would momentarily engage causing a slight breaking about every 20 feet.
Flying with green painted rear guards actually made orientation easier. I did not...
I am very happy with my P4. I have had mine for 3 weeks now. The firmware upgrade was easy. All of my flights have been uneventful and no unexpected behavior.

After an hour in a below boiling solution, some areas had a slight pink tint. The locking bracket took the dye just fine. I am going to paint the guards this afternoon with paint made for plastic. Also if you remove the black lines on the guards the OA system...
I just received my P4 prop guards and sure enough the CA system was turned off. Out of curiosity I applied white tape over the area that has the black lines, the CA system remained on. I plan on doing some testing to see if the CA system still works.
