the problem that you are finding is the latest version of dji go needs more processing power than your phone can provide that is why it keeps crashing, what you need to do is go back to the previous version of dji go and all should be fine(don't forget to turn of auto updates) that is what i had...

evening all have been pondering on this app, can they not add random events into the simulator part to mimic lost signal,loss of gps so that way when it happens you will have a slight clue as to what to do
