Dunked one in salt water once. A guy bought it that repairs them. He said he had it check out, repaired and flying in four hours. Mine wasn't green though. Came home and dunked it in alcohol for a few hours right after it happened.

Dude... I so know what you went through. I had a Phantom 2 with too few satellites to get a lock get blown out of my sight over some trees once. Return to home didn't work twice... sweat was pouring off my forehead until it worked the third time. Glad you got it back!

Ok... took it to an area where I could fly LOS with minimal RF interference. I also borrowed a friends Apple iPad Air 2. I took it out around 1,500 feet. Never lost signal. So, I guess it was interference. I also ordered a set of the parabolic antennas off of Amazon... just for good measure...

If I take the camera and gimbal off is it OK to fly the Phantom 2 Vision Plus without the camera and gimbal?

Here's what I'm thinking... The camera only weighs 3.63 oz. (103g). So, get one of the carbon fiber gimbal protectors like this one and mount the camera upside down to the center of the protector.

Has anyone seen the video where a guy mounts a Kodak SP360 to his Phantom? I'd love to do that but I have a Phantom 2 Vison Plus and I'm not about to remove the camera. Do you think if I got the gimbal guard I could mount the Kodak to the bottom of the Phantom without throwing off the balance...
