Just to follow up on this, I have ordered an official dji ribbon from the online store dji.com Ordered it Monday and it arrived here lightening fast (Scotland) on Thursday, it was shipped from China. £41 Fitted the ribbon and all is well. Moral of the story, as others have rightly pointed out...

Hi flyorfry! I am having a very similair problem. Crash broke yaw arm and ripped ribbon, New 3d printed arm and replacement ribbon of eBay later and no video signal. I have tried everything, I don't think it's firmware cos every now again (like VERY rarely) the camera connects for a few seconds...
