I did review the VFR and Durham is outside of RDU's airspace. There is a Helipad at Duke University that I have to and have notified whenever I have flown there.
Video permissions corrected. “busted regs....” and so I did. So I will just make sure I don’t fly “directly” over anyone that isnt under cover. I don’t want to be “that guy” but I will go right to the fence to get the best shot. I take safety seriously and am always situationally aware. As...
I’ve been hired to grab some aerial footage of the Durham, NC area for a montage and plan to get a similiar shot like the one in the video link below but during a game. To the best of my knowledge the only FAA TFR is no flying within 3 miles of a MLB, NFL, NASCAR or NCAA stadium that holds...
I of course thought of that after I posted but did see that they are accepting registrations for testing of course I don't know when those registrations begin, I have not called but I'm due to recertify before September. I'm still curious to hear how testing goes for anybody that does test prior...

OPINION/RANT: So I am finding myself a bit put off by these Uber for drones businesses like Dronebase and the new Droners.io (powered by PrecisionHawk). While I have been on 20 Dronebase missions (real estate/insurance) earning $1735 over 8 months and 2 Droners.io insurance missions earning...
Ahhh, Ok I get it now. I was only viewing the road maps, seeing as how up to now I only fly with the drone in my line of sight (or at a safe altitude). I honestly never attempted to switch to sat view but I can definately understand the advantage.
I used the Rochester's and was able.to easily maintain VLOS looking above or below the glasses sometimes with a slight tilt of my head. Looking through the glasses is pretty much useless for VLOS as you have said but it's so easy to look above or below. Looking down at the DJI GO screen is so...
