    My first negative flying experience

If someone, or an organisation, specifically asks you not to fly on their land or over their property, it is only reasonable to comply. Choosing to argue against that, will only continue to alienate people further to the use of drones, ultimately resulting in far tighter regulations for all of us.

    My first negative flying experience

I'm afraid that if you did fly out over the National Trust property you were in breach of the NT bylaws (which is legally enforceable) The NT are having increasing problems with drones being flown on their sites and the ground they own. You may have been flying safely but unfortunately many...

    Flying without Permission UK Guidance

I appreciate it does feel a bit like that but unfortunately there are so many people that have ignored even the most basic drone code rules that make it difficult for everyone else. In the U.K. A lot of it is common sense. Drones can do a lot of damage so the drone code of 50m is a good idea...

Input needed on Walkera G-2d Plastic White

Glad you have made some progress. I'm afraid it is all a bit trial and error to get it right. If you ever get the chance to move to a P3 or P4 of course all those issues go away...but then so does your money!

We've all missed the foam packing piece for the first couple of flights!

Input needed on Walkera G-2d Plastic White

It was the SJ4000 I was using as well. Unfortunately I sold it all some time ago so I can't tell you what I ended up with, but I think your right that it's worth trying more weight to stabilise rather than less. It's a case of damping it and I don't think you can really take that out with the...

Input needed on Walkera G-2d Plastic White

You may well have tried this but I thought I'd mention it, when I had one sometime ago I found that getting the weight of the camera right was critical. It seemed as if it had been designed for a very specific GoPro and unless you matched that weight jello was always an issue.

Seems I've purchased an import (controller question)

Did you buy it through eBay, Amazon or using PayPal as I think you have a case to return it for a refund if it wasn't stated that it was a 900MHz variant? Sent from my iPad using PhantomPilots

Drone laws in europe on holiday ?

Yes, agree with Paul for the UK, but anything belonging to the National Trust or English heritage is off limits. Sent from my iPad using PhantomPilots

    Signal Interference

That could very well be your culprit! They can be very directional and if you get in front of them that close they will block the signal. Sent from my iPad using PhantomPilots

    Signal Interference

Is there any relatively high power transmitters/radar either nearby or on the lighthouse? They may not be on the same frequency but relatively high power transmitters can easily block the front end of the receiver. Sent from my iPad using PhantomPilots

    Help For First Time Purchase

Yes, as 53-63 said at the beginning your focus on choice should not be for the obstacle avoidance. It's a nice to have but at the end of the day you will need to teach yourself to fly whatever you choose properly first. You should treat the obstacle avoidance as something that could get you out...

    Cell Phone Transmission Towers

There can be very strong electro magnetic interference especially from power lines which will interfere with your compass. Cell towers do radiate very high power compared to your transmitter and although not on exactly the same frequency could easily "block" your receiver. I would not risk...
