    Fly away! Please help.

Ah crud! I had my first flyaway yesterday. The last I saw of it, it was floating off toward Pennsylvania. If anyone in the area happens upon it would you let me know? Here's a recent photo: (With apologies to anyone adversely affected by this runaway blimp)

How to protect yourself legally when filming gigs

Regarding music - There are many, many sites out there with varying qualities of 'free' music. As you delve into you, you'll discover different layers of free. Free to use with attribution, or royalty free with a one-time payment, and so on. Do a search for Creative Commons and you'll be on...

Can you get FPV with gopro in photo mode?

You could do that, however the frames grabbed from a video stream are a much lower resolution.

Can you get FPV with gopro in photo mode?

I have a Gopro 3 Black+, and I regularly use FPV, but I have no shutter add on. My practice, for still pictures, has been to set the gopro up on a 5 or 10 second interval, and then launch the Phantom. Hughie is right, I still get FPV, but it blacks out for a second or so with every photo...

And so it starts, in our state of Arizona

Arizona born and bred, I am. A bit of background for those not from the Phoenix area - Paradise Valley is a very high dollar real estate section of the valley. I believe (but not certain) that the town has an ordinance that requires at least 1 acre per house density. The result is...

A man was arrested by the Secret Service for trying to fly a drone over the White House (DEVELOPING)

I probably reacted way too fast - I, like others who will read the story, saw the photoshopped DJI Phantom floating over the White House and assumed that some yahoo was launching another one over the fence. A more reasonable explanation is that some not-quit-yahoo isn't up on the rules and...

A man was arrested by the Secret Service for trying to fly a drone over the White House (DEVELOPING)

Good Grief! Here we go again. I wonder what material is between this newest White House drone owner's ear? Is it just empty space, a vacuum, or maybe human excrement? Corn flakes, that my guess.

How high should I fly in a park near the airport?

I see Mt. Solidad is well out of the NFZ, but it's in a fairly suburban area. Anybody know if there are local ordinances against flying there? This 'Zonie is planning a trip to the San Diego area next month and I like to find some picturesque, and friendly places to fly.

Hot weather flying - The Arizona desert is heating up. What's the highest temp that you've flown in?

I'm an Arizona-boy, native, grew up here. One of my grown-up hobbies for the past year has been flying my Phantom, so I only have one summer's worth of experience to comment on. Depending on how much time I have I generally head to one of the local RC-tolerant parks or with a bit more time I...

Where to fly in Goodyear, AZ

Hi LPilot - There are plenty of places on east side (Mesa, Tempe, Chandler area) where I live which I'd be happy to share with a PM. That's assuming you're willing to drive 45 mins or so to reach the east end of the valley. Sorry, I don't know much about the west side. There's a nice...

Real Estate video tour commercial .. Need some feedback

I liked it - a few comments only: - Overall the video flowed well. I might suggest slight longer cuts to allow the first time viewer to gather more of each scene, but that is a weak suggestion only, flow with the music takes precedence. - Speaking of music - what is the source? CC? Be...

    Noob here who needs advice

I tried and tried to land on a ceiling fan blade with my Nano, and while I got very close many times I finally had to turn the fan off to manage it.... That was a lot easier.

    newbie

For certain, I agree that a Phantom is much easier to fly, but I would still suggest that anyone who has never flown a quad before should probably get a few hours of flight time on a sub $100 platform before heading out to the park with a substantially more costly loaded up rig.

    newbie

Start with a relatively inexpensive, small, quad 'trainer', that can take hundreds of crashes, and be flown indoors without wrecking up your house. You can get a Syma UFO from Amazon for under $40 - http://www.amazon.com/Syma-Channel-2-4G ... s=syma+ufo But I would recommend you spend a bit...
