I have heard a lot of these stories. I guess because it was at night they may have seen it however chances are they would have tried to avoid it if they saw it.

People shouldn't be flying this close to animals... It's these things which cause stricter regulations. If everyone just read and followed the rules everything would be better.

Re: FAA study shows real pilots do not make better UAV pilot That's quite interesting. I think the reason behind the proposed pilots license rule is because it's an easy way to make sure everyone flying them knows the rules.
