So mine went back to dji, they said they fixed it (changed the flight controller), did a test flight on a tether and it flew great. Right out of the box from the repair it flew the infamous j-hook.
I called and they said send video.
I sent video.
This is the response if received...
I have the exact issue.
The P2V worked perfectly out of the box in December.
Updated the firmware and whammo, it now is doing the j-curve -- identical to the video.
I sent it to dronefly because I thought I tweaked a motor when I hit a branch -- not thinking the firmware update would cause the...
However, mine didn't do this when I got it in December. But, now it does exactly what the one in the video did.
And yes, I have done the advanced IMU. No change. Lots of satellites. Calibrated compass. Calibrated controls. Still drifts, but only for the first five minutes of flight.
What would...
So, I sent mine to dronefly.com and they said my compass was bad... they replaced it.
I took it out of the box and did a fast, straight flight down my street. Stopped abruptly, and it veered left about 15 feet (just like before I sent it down there).
I kept on flying it and this problem went...
Now I am very frustrated.
I was changing the motor and messed up the circuit board next to the motor.
Oh well, I want it fixed back to new so I boxed it up and sent it to dronefly.com to have some professionals fix it.
Tried it tonight and it is doing the same exact thing (if you fly straight...
First, thanks for the compliments on the video, more to come!
Second, turns out it is a bad motor. I have all new props and it still isn't flying right. Then, when the engines are idling after startup, one motor is surging a bit. New one is on the way! It will be back in the air soon!
So I made a short edit from my first weekend with my new phantom 2 vision. Man, I love this thing... the possibilities are endless!
Here is the video: http://vimeo.com/83265711
I updated the firmware, now it hovers in a 10ft. radius circle.
Plus, if you fly it in a straight line, it drifts to the left about 15ft. when you stop.
I re-calibrated via the software, but the problem still exists.
Any thoughts?
So I swapped the front left for the rear right and it still behaves the exact way. That worries me a bit.
Any thoughts now? I can't even land it without having the steer to the side a bit to keep it from drifting.
Forgot to mention.
I did update the firmware to the latest version this...
